In 2000 Governor George W. Bush called Melinda Henneberger by the wrong name. Four years later she gets back at the President.  Hell hath nor fury like a womanscorned.

Magic Bike

Magicbike is one of the coolest things I’veever seen.  “I am like the ice cream man, but with no musicand I deliver free wireless access and not ice cream.” - YuryGitmanMagicbike is a mobile WiFi (wireless Internet)hotspot that gives free Internet connectivity wherever its ridden or parked. By turninga common bicycle into a wireless hotspot, Magicbike explores new delivery and usestrategies for wireless networks and modern-day urbanites. Wireless bicycles disappearinto the urban fabric and bring Internet to yet unserved spaces and communities. Mixingpublic art with techno-activism, Magicbikes are perfect for setting up adhoc Internetconnectivity for art and culture events, emergency access, public demonstrations, and communities on the struggling end of the digital-divide.

The Superstitions

Here’s a picture that my friend CecilWalker took of the Superstition mountains.  These mountains are just northof my house.  I actually climbed to the top of these mountains with my friendGreg.  It’s cool to see them from this perspective.Check out Cecil’s photography website.  He has some pretty amazing pictures. I think my favorite is his black and white of SlotCanyon.  He’s a professional motorsports photographer - so if you’re intocars you’ll love his pictures.

The Perfect Game

Randy Johnson of the Arizona Diamondbacks pitcheda perfect game today against the Atlanta Braves.  There have only been 17perfect games in the history of baseball, and only 15 perfect games since 1900. It was just the fifth perfect game in the NL this century.

Wow.

Games for Geeks

My friend Miguel from Costa Rica introduced me to the site RedHot Pawn today.  You can play chess and checkers against opponents from aroundthe world.  The site allows you to make a move and then e-mails you when youropponent makes a move.  You can take 3 days between moves if you like. It’s a lot of fun.  So far Miguel and I are in a heated war, I’ll let you knowwho wins our first match.

Road Trip

Today Diane and I went on an adventure.  We drove up highway 87 to Payson andthen just went exploring along the Mogollon Rim.  We saw some pretty cool sightsand had fun driving around.  I’ll have to blog more about it when I’m a littlemore awake.  One funny thing we saw was a sign in the window of a barber shop. I took a snapshot so you could enjoy it too.  (Sorry about my reflection in theglass.)
